Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
